Tomorrow (August 21) Green, 21, begins her second world championship quest, having taken part in Lausanne, Switzerland as a junior two years ago.
She has already tasted victory in a European Cup event in Coimbra, Portugal this year and taken part in the European Championships in Kitzbuhel, Austria.
Her challenge begins at 3pm UK time on Saturday when she participates in the under-23 women's race.
Fellow former Elgin Academy pupil Main, also 21, like Green trains at the University of Stirling Performance Centre where they are both making great progress on their journey along the Scottish triathlon pathway.
Main also took part in the Euros at Kitzbuhel and makes his first world championship appearance.

His adventure also begins on Saturday at 4.35pm UK time in the under-23 men's race.
Speaking on the Triathlon Scotland website, Sophia Green admitted watching this summer's Olympic Games in Tokyo had given her great pride, particularly with Britain winning the triathlon mixed relay gold and two individual silver medals.
"Watching the Olympics was very inspiring, understanding all the difficulties athletes had gone through, especially over the last year," she said.
"Seeing the success of the GB athletes made me feel proud to be part of something so special.
"Training has been going really well these past few weeks so I am looking forward to hopefully putting that into practice.
"This will be my first standard distance triathlon so my aim for the race is to really pay attention to all the small details and believe in my training.
"I am really excited to get out on the world stage, where I can compare myself to other athletes across the world and show off all the hard work I have been putting in."
