Striker Adam MacLeod one of four new signings at Lossiemouth as Buckie Thistle man joins Scott Thomson, Ryan O'halloran and Logan Ross at Coasters
LOSSIEMOUTH have bolstered their squad ahead of the upcoming Highland League campaign with four new signings.
The Coasters have strengthened the entire spine of their team – signing a goalkeeper, central defender, midfielder and a striker.
In goals, Logan Ross has returned on loan from Ross County after a successful spell between the posts last season.
He’s joined by central defender Ryan O’halloran, who has been playing for RAF Lossiemouth in the Moray Welfare League, and combative midfielder Scott Thomson, who has signed from junior outfit Dufftown on a two-year deal.
Up top, Adam MacLeod has signed on loan from Buckie Thistle.
Lossie manager Joe Russell said: “Getting Logan back is a big boost. We’ll be really competitive in the goalkeeping area.
“Scott Thomson is a bit of a machine. He’s a tough tackling, no-nonsense midfielder so he’ll be a good addition.
“We’ve seen him a few times for Dufftown and been impressed. He’ll be a good lad in the changing room so it’s good to get him on board.
“He is offshore but knows he won’t come back and walk into the team – he will fight for his place.
“Ryan has been playing for RAF Lossiemouth, he’s ex Inverness and Ross County and will boost us at centre-half.
“Adam McLeod has come in short-term loan deal. A few teams were after him so it’s good to get him on board.
“We tried to get him in when he was at Nairn St Ninian. It was good that we chased him then because I think he felt wanted from us. He should be fit and raring to go. A goal scorer has definitely been missing. Our goals tally for last season was poor. We had to address that.”
Lossie defeated Islavale 2-0 on Saturday thanks to goals from Michael Weir and Fraser Forbes.
The Coasters host Cruden Bay tomorrow before the big kick-off against Formartine United.
