THE fans turned out in force to pay tribute to Buckie Thistle manager Graeme Stewart on Saturday (June 25) against a strong Aberdeen squad.
Stewart, who had three spells as a player for the Jags, and has been manager for eight years – winning the Highland League title in that time – was given a guard of honour before the game.
Buckie took the lead in the second half through former Aberdeen youngster Max Barry.
However, a penalty by Christian Ramirez and a late stunner by Matty Kennedy secured a 2-1 win for the Scottish Premiership side.
A crowd in the region of 3000 swarmed to Victoria Park to watch the game on a beautiful summer's afternoon.
The game was sponsored by Aberdeen firm Subsea Pressure Controls Ltd. Managing director Neil Fentie donated 60 tickets to Buckie's youth development.
Jim Goodwin's side fly out to Spain this week for a pre-season training camp.
Meanwhile, Buckie are gearing up for another tilt at the Highland League title this season.
