Lossiemouth United run riot in north junior football’s Championship with 15-0 demolition of Westdyke while Dufftown clock up 9-1 success against Cruden Bay on same day





Lossiemouth United clocked up what could be a club record 15-0 win to continue their march towards promotion.

The north junior side sit eight points clear at the top of the Championship after running riot on Westdyke.

United were six goals up after just 22 minutes and went in at the break with an 8-0 lead.

James Johnston managed a four-goal haul and Fraser Forbes bagged a hat-trick while there were braces for Alex Matczak and Matty Fraser and one goal each for Robert Scott, Finlay McKay and subs Ben Cullen and Noah Murray.

Not too far behind on the scoring front were Dufftown, who managed a 9-1 win over Cruden Bay.

After going behind, the Toonsers hit back in style with Richie Tawse scoring three, Nathan Scott two and one each for Kris Duncan, Ryan Morrison, Owen Hepburn and Jack Craib.

Islavale lost 3-0 at Dundee East Craigie in the Inter Regional Cup.

Burghead Thistle were defeated 5-0 at home to title contenders Hall Russell United in the Championship while Deveronside went down 4-1 at Stoneywood Parkvale with Ethan Blanchard getting the Side goal.

Whitehills were hammered 10-1 at Nairn St Ninian.
