Keith can keep their Scottish Cup adventure going into next year if they maintain current form, says co-manager Andy Roddie.

Michael Selfridge’s stoppage time winner at Deveronvale last Saturday made it three wins in a row for Roddie and fellow boss Tommy Wilson, who were appointed just before the start of the season.

One of those wins was a 5-1 success over Fort William in the cup, earning the Maroons another home tie against Hill of Beath Hawthorn on Boxing Day.

The Fife side are mid-table in the East of Scotland Premier League with five wins and five draws, and will not be underestimated by Keith.

However Roddie believes his side has what it takes to come out on top this weekend.

“We know they’ll be streetwise and they will come up here expecting to get a result,” said Roddie.”We have to make sure we approach the game in the right manner and we don’t get caught short.

“If we play the way we’ve been playing, we shouldn’t have any problems.

“At training this week the boys were buzzing and looking forward to the game. We know there will be humps and bumps along the way but just now we have some momentum and we want to keep that going.

“Getting through to the next round is our aim but it won’t come easy and we have to keep putting in the same effort and desire we’ve shown of late.”

Roddie felt his team deserved their 2-1 success at Vale last week, and paid tribute to captain Cammy Keith scoring his 350th Highland League goal with the Maroons opener

“There’s not much more we can say about Cammy. Even at the age he’s at, he still has the hunger and desire and he’s running about like a young thing and still banging in the goals.”

No Christmas family trips this year means Keith have a full squad to pick from.
