The man at the top of the goal charts won’t be able to add to his tally today, as Huntly don’t have a game and Angus Grant can’t progress his 31-goal total this afternoon.

It’s a big day for Deveronvale as they host Brora Rangers in the semi-finals of the Highland League cup.

The Banff side will be major underdogs, particularly after losing 5-0 to the same opponents in the league last week.

Brora are also the highest scoring team in the league this season by far, amassing 116 goals in all competitions already.

Mid-season signing Connor Bunce has added eight goals at Brora to the 13 he netted for Clach in the first half of the campaign, while Jordan MacRae (15) and ex-Caley Thistle and Elgin City striker Shane Sutherland (13) feature high up the scoring league.

Top scorers (all competitions)

31 - Angus Grant (Huntly)

22 - Dayle Robertson (Brechin City)

21 - Connor Bunce (Brora Rangers - 13 for Clach)

18 - James Anderson (Clach)

17 - Michael Philipson (Banks o’ Dee)

16 - Scott Barbour (Fraserburgh)

15 - Jordan MacRae (Brora Rangers)

14 - Ewan Loudon (Brechin City)

13 - Shane Sutherland (Brora Rangers), Calum Frame (Forres Mechanics), Ben Barron (Nairn County), Reece McKeown (Turriff United)

12 - Liam Duell (Brechin City), Jack Mitchell (Deveronvale)

11 - Lachie MacLeod (Banks o’ Dee), Matty Wright (Brora Rangers - 9 for Nairn County), Ben Hermiston (Deveronvale), Kyle Henderson (Wick Academy)

10 - Tony Dingwall (Brora Rangers), Marcus Goodall, Lyall Keir (both Buckie Thistle), Jonny Crawford, Julian Wade (both Formartine United), Aidan Sopel (Fraserburgh), Sam Robertson (Huntly)

While Brora are on cup duty, Brechin City in second place will aim to close the gap when they welcome Clach to Glebe Park today.

There’s one game in Moray where Forres Mechanics are targeting a league double over Formartine United, who they beat 3-2 at North Lodge Park in August.

Keith make the trip to Grantown to face Strathspey Thistle, who climbed off the foot of the league last week and dumped Rothes in bottom spot.

The Speysiders are away to Inverurie Locos, who have won their last five league games.

Buckie Thistle are unbeaten in their last three and head for Nairn County while Wick Academy play host to Turriff United in the other fixture.
