A big Mackie’s team played some strong running rugby which gave them a comfortable early lead but the Moray character and determination shone through to get them back into contention.

The Stonehaven side weathered the pressure and scored two late tries to thwart the comeback.

Moray’s 22 points came from four tries securing a bonus point.

The first was scored by Jake Fielding after a period of pressure in the 22, a try converted by Logan McKenzie.

Moray added a second, unconverted try through Mark Newman after some good handling back play.

Finally, Findlay Reid scored an unconverted try out wide after some good forward and back driving play.

This Saturday there is a rematch in the final round robin fixture at Stonehaven with all to play for as far as the round-robin league is concerned.
