Elgin City hit the top of League Two after 2-1 win over Forfar Athletic





Elgin City hit the top of League Two on Saturday night after a 2-1 victory over Forfar Athletic at Borough Briggs.

Dajon Golding’s first goal of the season was added to by a Mark Gallagher strike to give City all three points over the Loons.

The Black and Whites moved to the summit of the league after the top two - Peterhead and East Fife - were both defeated.

Forfar, meanwhile, dropped to the foot of the table.

Golding’s first goal of the campaign put City ahead on 12 minutes, but Forfar levelled through Russell McLean a quarter of an hour later.

Mark Gallagher scrambled home a winner on 73 minutes to ensure City moved top.

Allan Hale’s side welcome Clyde to Borough Briggs on Saturday, looking to get the better of the Bully Wee again after a dramatic Scottish Cup victory over the central belt side a few weeks ago.
