Forres police list crimes - including theft and ‘ill-treatment of child’ committed in October in report for community council

The Moray West report for Forres Community Council lists the disturbing incident amongst other antisocial behaviour, violence and disorder, as well as acquisitive and road misdemeanours.
Forres police inspector, Neil Morrison, confirmed his team continues to focus on “reducing crime and disorder, helping create safer communities and responding effectively to local concerns.”
He said: “The report covers progress we have made in dealing with priorities for the Lossiemouth and Fochabers, Forres and Speyside community policing team areas during October.
“It aims to highlight emerging issues and to provide crime prevention advice and guidance to community council members and residents.”
A person was arrested and charged in connection with wilfully ill-treating a child.
There were six reports of assault: someone was charged and will appear at court for one; two people were issued with recorded police warnings; a young person was charged and referred to the Youth Justice Management Unit for another; and positive lines of enquiry are ongoing for the remaining incidents.
