Fans of the Red Arrows who didn’t get to see the world-famous aerial display team in action in Moray and the Highlands last year may be set to get another chance.

For it is understood the RAF team will be back in the north next week for aerial training ahead of their busy display programmes in the summer.

The Red Arrows fan Facebook page has posted that the team, who are usually based at RAF Waddington, will be flying to RAF Lossiemouth next week and then embarking on training flights around the Tain Range in Easter Ross.

The planned visit mirrors similar training last year, which delighted onlookers almost exactly a year ago to the day.

According to the latest information the Red Arrows will fly up to RAF Lossiemouth on Monday before then conducting multiple formations between the Moray air base and the Tain Range from Monday to Thursday

On Monday and Thursday there are two training slots lined up between midday and 4.15pm on both days.

Tuesday and Wednesday, meanwhile, both have three planned training slots between 9am and 4.15pm.

Specific times are not known beyond those windows, and the flights will be dependent on the weather.

The team will fly back to RAF Waddington from RAF Lossiemouth on Friday.

RAF Waddington has been approached for confirmation of the Red Arrows’ reported visit to the north.

Last year’s lengthy visit to RAF Lossiemouth and the skies above the Tain Range wowed Highland residents, with many capturing spectacular images of the display team in action. Will you be heading out with a camera?

At the time of writing there were no weather warnings in place for next week, although stormy winds have resulted in a yellow warning for wind across Scotland on Sunday.
