RAF Lossiemouth on gender equality mission
RAF Lossiemouth is asking station personnel and its community to challenge gender bias and inequality for International Women’s Day (IWD) today.
People who work at the station are being asked to get involved in this year's "Choose To Challenge" theme, which urges individuals to take action to help create a gender-equal society.
In 2017, the RAF became the first of the UK Armed Forces to open every role to women and men, aiming to make the RAF the most diverse air force in history.
IWD has been running for over a century to celebrate women’s achievements and call out gender inequality.
For IWD 2021 members of Team Lossie have been urged to make a public pledge to choose positive behaviour, to choose to challenge inequalities and to choose to lead by example in creating an inclusive culture.
Officer Commanding Base Support Wing, Wing Commander Sarah Brewin said: "I’m delighted that RAF Lossiemouth has chosen to celebrate International Women’s Day by supporting the #ChoosetoChallenge theme.

"International Women’s Day is an opportunity for us to come together, to underline the importance of an inclusive working environment to allow our people to thrive in the workplace and support RAF Lossiemouth’s mission to the best of their ability."
