RAF Lossiemouth's Mountain Rescue Team were called out twice during a training exercise this month.

6 / 6The team successfully completed the training, which took place in the Cairngorms, and enhanced their skills for safe movement during coordinated search and rescue operations in mountainous environments.
However, during the week-long training period, the team were also called out twice and were tasked with putting some of their newly acquired skills into action.
On February 18 they were called out to assist the Skye Mountain Rescue Team with a search and rescue operation for a missing person.
The person was found , having survived the cold and rough weather for 48 hours, with a broken leg but was airlifted to hospital thanks to the work of both teams.
The following day, five members of the team were called out again while conducting training in Coire an t-Sneachda, Cairngorms.
They were alerted to three climbers who had become stuck on the Fiacaill Buttress area of the mountain range.
The team quickly assessed the situation and were able to reach the climbers, make them safe and recover them using technical rescue rope systems.
The Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team and RAF Leeming Mountain Rescue Team provided additional support while Rescue151 were also on the scene.
