RAF Lossiemouth team tackling NC500 in aid of the Archie Foundation

Four mates from a military airbase are going to complete Scotland’s ultimate road trip in less than 24 hours to support a children’s charity.

The four motorbike enthusiasts from RAF Lossiemouth are tackling the NC500 in aid of the Archie Foundation.

Later this month they’ll ride the stunning 516-mile route which will take them up Scotland’s west coast and back down its east.

Scott Norcliffe is undertaking the 24-hour challenge alongside Gordon Chisholm, Colin Jackson and Mathew Zglobis.

Scott said: “Many families based at RAF Lossiemouth are living far away from their friends and extended family.

“The Archie Foundation can provide emotional and financial help if a child is unwell or needs medical assistance. That’s invaluable to service families as they often don’t have big support networks locally.”

The bikers will leave Inverness at 6am on Friday, August 23, with the aim of returning to the city less than 24 hours later, having taken in the wild beauty of the Black Isle, Caithness, Sutherland, Easter Ross, Wester Ross and Inverness-shire.

Paula Cormack, chief executive of The Archie Foundation, said: “Our aim is to ensure that all children throughout the north-east of Scotland have equal access to world-class healthcare and bereavement support.

“We’re delighted that Scott, Gordon, Colin and Mathew are raising both funds and awareness for us.”
