Our reporters and multimedia team were invited along to capture and report on the senior royal’s visit.

Cullen Community and Residential Centre welcomed the Princess first where she saw the work which has been put in by the volunteer team of the Three Kings Cullen Association (TKCA) to transform the facility.

TKCA chairwoman Brenda Gifford said that the royal visit was a “huge honour” and recognised what the team of volunteers had achieved at the centre since taking it into community ownership from Moray Council.

Her Royal Highness also paid a visit to the Boyndie Trust, which has been operating for the last 25 years.

Princess Anne also returned to a community visitor centre she officially opened more than 20 years ago in Banffshire.

She visited the Boyndie Visitor Centre, which is home to the Banffshire Partnership and the Boyndie Trust.

Her Royal Highness opened the building in 2004, and today, she was able to go back and see how it has developed.

When unveiling a commemorative plaque at the centre The Princess Royal said: “It is a pleasure to come back. The ambitions that you had when you opened have been more than fulfilled here.

“Thank you so much for doing that. It’s a pleasure to see just how far you have expanded and the scale of your enterprise.”
