Motive Offshore Group, based in Boyndie, appoints new manager to guide Americas expansion
A new manager at an offshore company is looking forward to taking advantage of the “truly abundant” opportunities an expansion into the Americas will bring.
Boyndie-based Motive Offshore Group, which specialises in engineering, inspection and rental equipment for the energy sector, has appointed Jonathan Watt as Americas regional manager in response to rising market demand.
As part of its global growth strategy, the company expects the region to turnover $10 million in the next three years.
The ramp-up of energy in the Americas has driven a significant uptake of Motive’s engineering, certification, inspection and rental services, with oil production expected to rise in the US to 13.65M bpd in 2025 and 60 per cent of renewable power generation expected by 2030.
In response to this demand, Motive has expanded its Americas foothold with Mr Watt at the helm.
He brings more than 17 years of offshore energy experience to the role, will be based in Houston and is responsible for leading the market and driving business growth.
He will play a major role in providing local client support, building Motive’s rental business and doubling its local expert team by 2025.
The company said his combination of leadership, sector expertise and commercial acumen makes him an ideal fit for the position, backed by his recent senior roles at Acteon Group, where he undertook positions as commercial director, rising up to managing director.
Mr Watt said: “The opportunities here are truly abundant, from the acceleration of offshore wind to the increased production in the traditional and developing oil and gas markets.
“I am delighted to join Motive at this exciting juncture in its growth journey. As the market intensifies, we are poised to offer essential supply chain support, providing a comprehensive ecosystem of marine equipment and delivering an integrated end-to-end service, from equipment sourcing to operation.
“I am committed to building on the team's already impressive successes by expanding our workforce, growing our asset portfolio and broadening our offerings to clients across the Americas.”
