Two men charged after firearms officers called to tower block incident

Two men have been arrested and charged after firearms officers were called to an incident in South Lanarkshire.

Specialist firearms officers were sent to a block of flats at Mount Cameron Drive South in East Kilbride at about 1.20pm on Sunday following a report of disturbance.

“Officers attended and two men, both aged 48, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident,” Police Scotland said in a statement.

“There were no reports of any injuries, and two knives were recovered.”

The two men are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court in due course.
