Man charged after weapons and drugs found in flat raids

The discovery was made in the Castlemilk area of Glasgow on Monday (PA)

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged after the discovery of zombie knives in raids in which class A drugs were also seized.

Police searched two flats on Dougrie Place, Castlemilk, Glasgow, at around 9.30am on Monday and discovered a cross bow, large hunting knives, axes and an air rifle.

Cocaine with an estimated street value of £3,600 and £5,200 in cash were also seized.

Police said a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal and inquiries are ongoing.

Detective Superintendent Steven Elliot said: “Police Scotland is committed to tackling violence and drug dealing in our communities.

“With the help and support of the public, we will continue to target anyone involved in organised criminal activity.
