Man, 58, in ‘critical’ condition after being hit by car in Glasgow

A 58-year-old man is in a “critical” condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow.

The incident, which involved a silver Volkswagen T-Cross car, happened on Carntyne Road, at its junction with Murrayfield Street, at about 8.40pm on Saturday.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where medics described his condition as “critical”.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was closed while emergency services were in attendance and re-opened around 3am on Sunday.

Sergeant Chris McColm of Road Policing said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage of significance, to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3463 of Saturday March 22, 2025.”
