Moray's best Northern Lights show 'for years'

The Northern Lights put on an extra-special show last night over Moray.

Regular sky-watcher Michelle Cumming was out and about with her camera to capture the experience.

She says: "Moray just had the most amazing Aurora experience.

"I know I've said that before but tonight saw alert levels I've never seen in three years of Aurora chasing.

"I swear they were making up new levels just to keep up.

"By 1am we'd reached the giddy heights of 'Extreme'.

Michelle took herself off to a dark spot near Cummingston and watched the sky come alive.

She adds: "The Aurora was so strong the Moray Firth literally lit up with the Northern Lights reflecting in the water.

"The Moray Coast is fabulous anyway but the Mirrie Dancers take it one step further."
