Moray recycling centre to completely shut at weekends

Dallachy recycling centre at Spey Bay will be closed on Saturdays from May 3 onwards.

The site, which is already shut on Sundays, will continue to operate as usual from Monday to Friday. Its opening hours are from 9am-11.50am and 12.30pm-3.50pm.

A local authority spokesperson said: “The change to operating hours was agreed by full council as part of ongoing savings initiatives and efforts to improve the efficiency and sustainability of waste management services.”

The recycling centres at Keith, Buckie, Forres and Elgin will continue to remain open on Saturdays.

Visits to the Elgin centre on Moycroft Road must be booked online at least an hour beforehand.
