The school has become one of only three schools in Moray to receive an award for their work in the SCQF (Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership) School Ambassador Recognition Programme.

The qualification recognises the schools work as part of the Scotland-wide programme to develop a variety of options and pathways of pupils.

The school's six student ambassadors have worked to achieve the school's new status by spreading awareness of the programme and promoting the many learner journey options in Lossiemouth High School.

This has involved spreading awareness with pupils, teachers and parents and promoting the options and opportunities available for pupils like different qualifications and classes at UHI Moray.

Lossiemouth High teacher Karen McLauchlan said: "It has been great to engage with parents and pupils and make them aware of all of their options in the school and the fact that we offer other subjects and qualifications outside of the traditional national and higher qualifications.

"It is so important that pupils get the best options for them to achieve the most they can out of their time at the school. It is great to be recognised and we are now working towards getting our silver status."
