The 24-year-old, who's in his final year at the Italia Conti stage school in London, performed an extract from A Midsummer's Night Dream opposite fellow student Ela Yaçin.

Lewie, whose parents Fiona and Bryan live in New Elgin, said: "I love Shakespeare and the theatre in general, so to be taking part in this festival is a dream come true.

"When I was growing up in Moray I used to act in as many things as possible.

"We did We Will Rock You at school and I appeared quite a few times at St Giles in various productions."

Lewie and Ela, who's from Sheffield, were among 38 up and coming young actors taking part in the festival which brought together the best talent from leading UK drama schools.

Previous festival performers include Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spiderman) and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey).
