A TOTAL of 248 students graduated from Moray College UHI at Elgin Town Hall this month.

Two ceremonies took place, with 116 students graduating in the morning and 132 in the afternoon on Frida+y, October 4.
The guest speaker on the day was chef Lorna McNee, who attended Dallas Primary School and Forres Academy before graduating from Moray College UHI in 2008.

The biggest reception of the day was saved for student speaker, Ms Caroline Goodman (34) – who escaped from an abusive relationship in Manchester to come north with her now 17-year-old daughter.
After her first speech, she told the Northern Scot: “That was the scariest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
“Last year, I couldn’t even do group talks in front of the class. When I came here I was totally broken but this place has pushed me on.”
Ms Goodman achieved level six in health and social care.
