Findhorn’s Universal Hall is welcoming a new family show from Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre

Gather round once more and hear the ‘Myths of the Vikings’ at Universal Hall.

Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre returns to Findhorn at 2pm on Wednesday, April 9 following three previously successful shows enjoyed by families at The Park.

Universal Hall spokeswoman, Shirley Barr, is looking forward to seeing legends of the Norsemen played out.

She said: “Clydebuilt put on Red Riding Hood's Magic Purse in 2018, Elves and the Shoemaker in 2023 and Beachcombers - Stories Just In Case last year.

“It's always a delight to welcome them. Seeing so many kids with smiling faces watching the show and interacting with the puppets afterwards is a real treat!”

Clydebuilt have performed Myths of the Vikings in York at the Jorvik Centre. The hour long show is suitable for children aged six and upwards so it is educational as well as entertaining, particularly for schools audiences studying the topic and anyone interested in the art of storytelling.

The stories - whose influence remains with us to this very day - were brought to Scotland by adventurers, pirates and settlers.

A Clydebuilt spokesperson described the play: “In the Beginning there was only ice and fire with the great emptiness of Ginnungagap in between. So begins the creation of the world of the Norsemen. Meet Odin, King of the Gods, Thor with his Magic Hammer and Loki the Trickster …
”Viking stories are intriguing for children who love a good story from long ago, when myths and legends were being made. Hear stories of Odin the king of the Gods, Thor and his mighty hammer and Loki the shape changer, adventurer and mischief-maker. Battle frost giants, dodge magical beasts and feel the thrill of storytelling, just as the children of the Norse once did.”
