CREW members at Elgin Ambulance Station last night showed their appreciation for the town's key workers.

People across the United Kingdom have been taking a minute, at 8pm on a Thursday, to stop what they are doing and put their hands together for front line workers in the battle with coronavirus.

Last night, the crew at Elgin Ambulance Station did the same, taking a moment to applaud Elgin folk who are still out there working.

The team, though, were only just able to take part in the clap – having all been busy out on jobs until minutes before 8pm.

Euan Esslemont, head of service for Grampian, said: "It is humbling for us to see the support the public are giving to the NHS and we feel it is important to show our support for all the other key workers serving Elgin communities.

"We appreciate the gestures the public have shown, from treats handed into station to fantastic pictures in windows.

"Each one of them have helped keep spirits up and we ask the public to continue to help us by staying home, only going out for essential travel and to maintain physical distancing."
