Buckie road set for closure during coming week due to Scottish Water works





A road in Buckie is set to be closed for much of the coming week.

Cluny Lane could be closed up to April 2 to allow Scottish Water to replace a sunken, damaged manhole in the centre of the carriageway.

Openreach are undertaking a number of jobs in the local area.

At 12 Reidhaven Crescent, Findochty the firm will be doing a maintenance dig required to fit 5m of ducting to provide new service to an end user. This should be completed by April 2.

Due to start over April 1-2 for three working days at 14 The Steadings in the village, Openreach will also be creating new ducting.

Over the same dates at Dyce Court and for the same estimated duration time, the company will be aiming to clear a duct blockage.

Meanwhile, in Buckie, Openreach will be working at 61 Douglas Crescent and 11 Shearer Avenue. The former job is scheduled to finish by March 31 while the latter should be completed by April 2.

At 20 Land Street, Buckie the firm have duct work planned which they aim to wind up by April 2.

Scottish Gas Network (SGN) will be at two Buckie locations to tackle gas escapes. Work started at 9 Station Road on March 26 - scheduled to last 21 working days - while at Low Street repairs should be done by April 21.

Meanwhile, Scottish Water will be outside 36 West Church Street in the town fixing a fire hydrant which they should have finished by April 2.

The firm are scheduled to have completed urgent sewer repairs outside 8 Banff Street by April 2.

Moray Council are at present laying high voltage cable near the Maynes Coaches base on March Road West, which they aim to wind up by April 11.

At the junction with Great Western Road on Buckie’s Slaughterhouse Brae the local authority will be working to replace a bollard, beginning on April 1 for three working days.

In Portgordon, the council are working at two sites on West High Street. East of No 8, kerb repair work is planned for completion by April 3, while along the road at No 2 footpath repairs should be rounded off by the same date.
