Elgin-based whisky auction house, Click Whisky Auctions, is once again inviting the public to uncover the value of their unwanted bottles at a free valuation event.

Siblings and business owners, Murray and Dawn Greig, are extending an open invitation to anyone looking to have their whisky assessed at the three‐day event held at their: Unit 4, Chanonry Court, Chanonry Road South, IV30 6FA

Thursday 27th March, 10am - 4pm

Friday 28th March, 10am - 4pm

Saturday 29th March, 10am - 2pm

Since launching in December 2022, Click Whisky Auctions has hosted monthly auctions, selling a wide range of whiskies—from everyday single malts to highly collectible, rare bottles. Their complimentary valuation service helps the public understand the worth of their bottles before deciding to sell.

Co-owner Murray Greig emphasized the importance of making the selling process as simple and transparent as possible. “Our free valuation service is a key part of that, ensuring customers have a clear idea of what their bottles may be worth at auction.”

For those unable to attend the valuation event for any reason or have too many bottles to transport, Click Whisky Auctions offers a home appointment service. “If attending in person isn’t possible, just get in touch, and we’ll arrange a home visit at your convenience,” Murray reassured.

Explaining the motivation behind these events, Murray shared, “We’ve hosted a couple valuation days from our premises now, and the response has been fantastic. People appreciate the opportunity to speak with us in person, especially in an age where most communication happens online or occasionally over the phone. I find that the public are left feeling more reassured being able to put a face to the business and answer any questions people have about the auction process—it can seem daunting at first, but once explained, they realize how straightforward it really is.”

With spring just around the corner, Murray noted that this time of year is perfect for tidying up and clearing out unused items—including whisky. “We’ve dealt with customers in the past that have had bottles stored for decades, from cupboards to lofts and even garages. One person wasn’t able to use their cupboard under the stairs for over 30 years because it was full of boxes of whisky! When they finally decided to sell, they were pleasantly surprised with the value of their bottles.”

When asked about the auction itself, Murray explained, “Although we’re based locally, it’s amazing to see where the bottles actually go. Obviously, we have a lot of local interest with a large proportion of customers based not only in Scotland but the rest of the UK as well. Over the last 18 months especially, we’re now selling to a lot of overseas customers which is really exciting for us.”

With better weather encouraging people to get out and about, Click Whisky Auctions hopes many will take the opportunity to visit their event.
