Moray event: Camo’s Inflatable Fair - An affordable family day
Camo’s Inflatable Fair this Saturday is specially designed to be affordable for everyone.
Tickets for the family fun event, taking place from noon to 4pm in Burghead, are priced at just £8, or pay as you go.
And for that the kids get to play on the bouncy castles and all the other attractions for a full four hours.
What’s more, because they’ll each be given a wristband, they can even come and go as they want.
The man behind Saturday’s inflatable fair, plus four more planned for Burghead and Hopeman over the summer, is Fraser Cameron, known as Camo.
Born and raised in Hopeman, Camo says: “The kids around here are as good as gold. However there just isn’t enough for them to do and because of that they get bored.
“That’s why I wanted to create something that’s reasonably priced, so even families who are struggling financially can come along and enjoy a whole day out together.”
Among the attractions for both youngsters and adults will be six bouncy castles, two assault courses, a bungee run, a huge 25ft-tall slide as well as ‘pillow wars’ and so much more
There’ll also be the chance to pet a pony and take part in some football challenges.
Refreshments will be available to buy at the fair, but if folk want there’s nothing to stop them from bringing along their own picnics.
Camo began staging family days a couple of years ago after purchasing the bouncy castles, and likes to donate to the community and to charities in the area.
His plan, following this coming Saturday’s event next to Burghead bowling green, is to stage another at Hopeman Pavillion in May.
He’ll then alternate between the two villages, holding a further three fairs in June, July and August. He’s also done other events for Halloween and for Christmas.
The other strand of his business – DJ Camo & Inflatables Hire – involves music.
Camo, who’s 23-year-old, says he first fell in love with it as a pupil at Hopeman Primary.
He used to put on little concerts at the school – a practice he continued with after going up to Lossiemouth High.
Nowadays, he DJs for the sixth year dance at Lossie.
Speaking about arranging events in the local community, he says: “The Moray coast is a beautiful place, but we need more things for young people to do here.
“I love getting involved because the feedback and the thanks you get from people is amazing. It’s also great to see everyone enjoying themselves.”
DJ Camo & Inflatables Hire caters for private parties, weddings and large events across Moray and the Highlands.
In addition to mobile discos and bouncy castles, it also does karaoke and combo packs.
