Buckie BBs celebrate year of achievement at awards evening
IT was time to celebrate a year of achievement and success for Buckie Boys’ Brigade when they held their annual awards ceremony.
Friday, March 22 saw the South and West Church in Buckie play host to the evening event, when lads from the Anchor Boys, Junior Section and Company Section all received their prizes.
It was a proud moment for the three President’s Badge winners - Luke Coull, Kenneth Newlands and Ruairi Davidson - who, should they successfully continue their studies, will next year become the first boys from the Company to be awarded the King’s Badge.
A total of 13 Queen’s Badge winners also received their awards.
There was also a new trophy added to the awards evening, the Jody Thain Memorial Trophy. Jody, who sadly passed away earlier this year, was a member of the Company in his youthful days. His parents, Allan and Pauline, have presented a trophy for the Company Section boy that meets the criteria of commitment to the Company, is well-mannered and goes the extra mile to support others. Picking up the inaugural trophy were Jack Pickerill and Sandy Hutchison.
