Moray school firearms threat prompts large police presence in Forres





Update: A 19-year-old has been arrested in relation to this incident.

A large police presence is responding to a reported firearms threat to three Moray schools.

The Northern Scot understands that Anderson’s Primary School, Applegrove Primary School and Forres Academy were among the targets of the threat issued by email.

It is also understood that schools within the Highland council area are also among the targets.

Police Scotland has confirmed that a 19-year-old has been arrested over a “malicious” email.

Moray Council and Highland Council have been contacted for comment.
