Bishopmill Primary School hosting colour run fundraiser
A COLOUR run and fun day will take place at Bishopmill Primary School next Sunday.
The fun-run will begin at 11am on Sunday, October 2 from the school and there will also be food, drink and craft stalls, with all proceeds going to the school's parent council.
Organiser Jo Milligan said: "A colour run is a fun run, where people throw powdered paint at the runners. We've created a little 2k course where people can run or walk, leaving from Bishopmill Primary at 11.
"All the kids have had sponsorship forms home to raise money and the run is open to the public, so we also have tickets on the day for anyone who is not a Bishopmill Primary pupil or family who want to come along."
The school had to postpone plans for the run, which was originally scheduled for September 18 but have already sold more than 500 tickets to the event, with more available to buy on the day.
Jo said: "We had a colour run about three years ago and it was really good fun. There seems to be quite a lot of people interested in coming so we're hoping it'll be a good day."
Tickets cost £5 per person or £15 for a family of four and are available to buy on the day from Bishopmill Primary School.
