Emergency services were called to a crash on the A96 at the western end of Elgin on Monday evening.

The crash, which involved two vehicles, occurred close to the Eight Acres Hotel and Leisure Club, which sits next to the junction between the A96 and Morriston Road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it was called to the scene at 6.49pm but that its crews were not required when they arrived as all of the vehicles' occupants had been able to exit them.

There was no immediate word as to whether there were any injuries.

Stagecoach Highland meanwhile was warning passengers that the crash was causing some disruption to traffic in the area.

Updating passengers via Twitter, it said: "Services 10 & M96 will be subject to delay. Although at present we are still on the normal route we may have to divert the service and will update if this is required."
