Elgin City manager Allan Hale says Black and Whites’ Premier Sports Cup success over Kelty Hearts is no guide towards SPFL Trust Trophy rematch between the teams
Elgin City will face a stronger Kelty Hearts team than the one they beat on penalty kicks earlier this season.
So says manager Allan Hale in a video interviewing today’s SPFL Trust Trophy third round tie in Fife.
City, who will hand a debut to emergency loan goalkeeper Logan Ross following a long term injury sustained by regular Tom McHale, are facing a side unbeaten in League 1 this term.
The Black and Whites met Kelty at Borough Briggs in the Premier Sports Cup in July.
Playing with ten men for over an hour when centre back Jake Dolzanski was sent off, City fought back from a half time deficit to level from sub Michael Dangana’s goal, then won the shoot-out to claim a bonus point.
Hale pointed out that the Fifers have added players to their squad since that match and will be full of confidence after a strong start.
But he said his team also has a spring in their step after also going unbeaten in their four league games to date.
