Lossiemouth United’s greatest day is the talk of the footballing country.
The north region junior second-tier side caused perhaps the biggest sensation in Scottish Junior Cup history by defeating 14-time champions Auchinleck Talbot 3-2 on Saturday.
United’s famous victory in Ayrshire was captured by Talbot’s cameras on their YouTube channel - see footage above.
It shows Jack Macarthur’s cross-cum-shot equaliser in the second half and Alex Matczak’s vital double, including an 87th minute winner just moments after Auchinleck had equalised.
Lossie United manager Scott Campbell had hailed the performance of his goalkeeper Stephen Dey, who made several fine saves including some crucial stops after Matczak’s late goal to deny Talbot another equaliser.
