Elgin City exit SPFL Trust Trophy at Kelty Hearts as Brian Cameron admits the Fife side was more clinical

Elgin City’s undefeated run was ended by a more clinical Kelty Hearts side.

The Black and Whites exited the SPFL Trust Trophy with a 3-1 defeat in Fife on Saturday, with City scorer Brian Cameron talking to the club’s media team after the game.

Elgin boss Allan Hale fielded a much changed team with emergency loan keeper Logan Ross between the sticks and regular starters Dajon Golding, Dylan Gavin, Mark Gallagher and Kyle Girvan all on the bench.

A double by Craig Johnston late in the first half put the home side in command and Scott Williamson added a third before Cameron’s low finish gave the away team a consolation.

“They were clinical and we weren’t,” said Cameron. “Unfortunately we never took our chances and we were punished for it.”
