THE Buckie Rotary Cub Six Harbour Walk may not be happening this year, but that is not stopping a local water sports club having their own celebrations.

Last year Findochty Water Sports Club (FWSC) held a rowing event which saw skiffs from the club and further afield visit the six harbours featured in the walk.

It proved such a success that FWSC are holding a similar event again this year, although sadly the Six Harbour Walk itself has had to take a year out.

The event will welcome into the area 15 St Ayles Skiffs their crews and supporters from as far away as Anstruther, Catterline and Collieston and nearer to home Lossiemouth, Cullen and Findhorn to name only some.

The 8am start point is Portsoy's historic harbour where all 15 boats will take to the water. They will set off west along the coast passing the impressive Findlater Castle resisting the tempting Sunnyside Beach until the half way point -12km - is reached at Cullen where a break for refreshments and a crew change will be provided by Scottish Coastal Rowing Club member Cullen Sea School.

After rounding the world famous Bow Fiddle Portknockie will be briefly visited followed by event destination Findochty.

Monies raised by way of entry fees and donations will be distributed to the Rotary Club and RNLI.
