In a segment which aired on Friday last week, celebrity food writer and presenter Donal Skehan introduced viewers to Aberlour, the home of Walker's Shortbread.

Viewers were taken through the history of the business, founded in 1898 by Joseph Walker, before being taken behind the scenes of the business' factory, hearing from Linda Ewen who has worked for the business for more than four decades.

Touring the factory, Donal saw first-hand how the company continues to use the same recipe for its shortbread that it did more than a century ago.

Alastair Walker, head of international sales and fourth generation of the Walker's family, spoke of the business' humble beginnings in Moray as well as its development into a business that now exports to 100 markets worldwide.

Nicky Walker, Walker's Shortbread managing director, said: "We were thrilled to welcome ITV’s This Morning to Aberlour for them to learn more about the history and story of Walker’s Shortbread.

"Our business wouldn’t be what it is today without our valued staff and customers, who have played such an important part in the Walker’s journey.

“Shortbread is synonymous with Scotland and plays such a special part in celebrations all year round.

"We were delighted to give viewers a brief insight into what goes on behind the scenes making the product that we hope will enhance traditions, both old and new, across the globe.”
